Call for submission:  Anthology of Hope

Healing House Publishing Company is looking for Inspirational Poems, Essays, Short stories and other Creative Writings in a forthcoming anthology. All works should Inspirational and based on the Christian faith.  

In a world that is filled with so much peril and negativity, it is the mission of Healing House to publish books, curriculum, and other literature that will encourage and inspire.

We are seeking creative works that are humorous, optimistic, spiritual, and prophetic, empowering and enlightening.  No sad, depressed or dark writing will be accepted.

What We Are Looking For – Styles

Poetry

Most forms are considered, metered and unmetered, traditional and experimental.  Poems for 3 -50 lines have the best chance of acceptance.  You may submit up to three poems at a time but a separate submission form must be completed for each poem.

Short Stories

Short Stories up to 10,000 words will be considered.  However, ten thousand is not a goal or challenge, it is an upper limit.  More important than word count is the quality of your work:  we are looking for excellent, polished writing that pulls us into an engaging story.

Essays

The ideal length for an Essay submission is 500 to 1000 words, but pieces up to 1500 words may be submitted.  Although your Essay is a short piece it should still present an interesting and compelling story.

Submission Guidelines:

Created works must be submitted between June 27 and July 31, 2014.

 Submission Fee:

All applicable fees must be paid at the time of submission.  Once our submission management team receives notification of your submission we will begin to evaluate your submission to make sure that it fits within the criteria for this anthology. 

If for some reason your submission is rejected we will email you a statement of decline and refund ½ of your submission fee within 10-15 business days.  If your submission is accepted no fees are refundable for any reason.

Note:  All submission fees will have minimal payment processing fee attached to them.

Fee Schedule: 

All submissions must be made separately, using a separate submission form.  You may submit a maximum of 3 pieces of work.

Poem- $50 per poem 

Essay - $75.00 per essays

Short Stories - $125.00 per story

Publication details:

 When and How:

If a sufficient number of high-quality writings are submitted and accepted, Healing House will publish the anthology in the fall of 2014 (November). It will be available in print and eBook form.

Advertising and distribution:
After sending out proofs for review, the book will be advertised in Magazines, Amazon.com, Barnes & Nobles and all other online book retail sites, and via social media.  Books will also be made available through Ingram book distributors.

Rights:
Healing House Publishing Company requests non-exclusive rights for the work accepted. This means both author and publisher can use the material in any means, for any want or need.

Agreement

When your submission has been approved we will email you a non-exclusive agreement requires your original signature and date.
